Miami food fanatics are likely to recall Steven Haigh as General Manager at Zuma, a post that he held for many years. Haigh, a native of Britain who calls Miami home, brings two decades of hospitality experience to KYU.

A graduate of Glasgow College of Food Technology, with advanced certifications in Wine & Spirits, Haigh has worked in every area of hospitality and restaurant development with a specialization in operational management.

In addition to formal training, Haigh is influenced by his years of travel, which took him to North and South America, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Laos working in a broad range of positions in the hospitality industry from small family-owned restaurants to 5-star silver service hotels.

The cruise industry initially brought Haigh to Miami in 2002 when he accepted a position with Celebrity Cruises. With Celebrity Haigh continued to travel the world but also found his footing on solid ground in Miami.

“While I love to travel, I’ve found no place in the world like Miami. The city is so international and ever-evolving and we are super grateful to call it home,” says Haigh. “Opening this restaurant has been a lifelong dream of mine and I can’t think of a better partner than Michael or a better place to open than Wynwood.”
