This is good news for everyone who never served in the city government of Opa-locka, and even better news if you love great food! And while we can’t speculate on the future of anyone who may or may not have demanded bribes from local businesses, we can tell you the 16 best new restaurants that have opened in South Florida this year.

Now that you’ve got the pronunciation down, you’re ready to order at Wynwood’s latest take on gourmet barbecue. The in-house smoked meats are the star of the show here, so don’t miss the duck breast burnt ends or the wagyu brisket. But not everything it smokes is grilled: the Korean fried chicken goes from the smoker to the fryer for a flavor you’ve never experienced. And the crispy crab buns are an adventure in eating, even if they’re not smoked.
